Back in June 2016, Kivuli supporter, Liz Dillarstone celebrated her ‘jubilee’ (50th!) birthday and asked for donations rather than gifts at a party she hosted. The donations (totalling nearly £2500 with Gift Aid) were used to take 84 children to Lake Nakuru National Park for a day safari.

In advance, the children all decorated t-shirts (designed by Liz’s brother Rob). The children were accompanied by over 40 members of staff from the school and hostels and in addition 5 members of the local Ministry for Education joined them for the day. As well as seeing giraffe, zebra, impala, water buck, buffalo, wart hogs and baboons, the group enjoyed a picnic lunch by the waterfall.
